‘Enthusiastic Learner’ is probably the most consistent characteristic that defines Helena Chester's life and interests. Born to parents who were survivors of Hitler’s labour camps, Helena has been immersed in various cultures, languages and worldviews.
She has worked as a nurse and a teacher. Her teaching focus and passion has been to facilitate democratic classrooms where students could learn by sharing their experiences, talents and knowledge with each other. She has found that this motivated students to learn more themselves and to develop leadership skills based on egalitarianism and fairness.
